TRAINING PROGRAMMES FOR CAUSE LAWYERS IN ASIA

 

PILOT TRAINING PROJECT ON DOMESTIC VIOLENCE 28th and 29th June. 2007. New Delhi, India

The first Pilot Training Project on Domestic Violence was held at New Delhi with participants from 10 Asian Countries. The training programme was held in five sessions. Discussion between participants and resource persons were dotted with country experiences of domestic violence. This led to the collation of various challenges as well as strategies to deal with these challenges. The objective of the training programme was to understand the legal issues surrounding domestic violence, and how a successful strategy used in one nation can be acclimatised or duplicated in another. NEGOTIATING EQUALITY THROUGH THE LAW

2nd Training Programme for Cause Lawyers in Asia  4th & 5th of June 2008. Kathmandu, Nepal


The Asia Cause Lawyers Network organized its second training programme on gender equality  on 4th and 5th of June 2008 at Hotel Radisson at Kathmandu, Nepal. The programme was hosted in keeping with the Network’s mandate of promoting women’s equality rights in the region and mentoring a new generation of cause lawyers, through sharing and exchange of information, identification of common human rights agenda within plural systems of governance and generating a new Asian agenda for law reform by contextualizing accepted international law standards.For More information, the report can be downloaded below
