Rowena Guanzon
Rowena (Bing) Guanzon is a practicing lawyer, writer, and advocate of children's rights and women's rights. She is litigation lawyer and a writer well-known in the field of gender discrimination. She is also involved in the advocacy for legal and judicial reform. She is the former Mayor of Cadiz City, Philippines from 1986-1992. Ms Guanzon graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Law in 1984 and has a degree of Master in Public Administration from Harvard University . Besides being a member of various Associations she is consultant of the Association of Social Workers for Integrity and Nationalism, member of the National Caucus for Politics of Renewal and founding member of Gender Watch Coalition and the a member of the CEDAW Watch in Manila. Ms. Guanzon is also a founding member of the Gender Justice Network, an association of women lawyers and law students engaged in women's human rights advocacy.
