RIGHT OF CITIZENS FOR TIME BOUND DELIVERY OF GOODS AND SERVICES AND REDRESSAL OF THEIR GRIEVANCES BILL 2011.

The Government of India in December 2011 introduced the Right of Citizens for Time Bound Delivery of Goods and Services and Redressal of their Grievances Bill that makes time bound delivery of goods and services and redress of grievances the right of every citizen. To ensure this, the bill makes it compulsory for every ministry and department to act on complaints of non-delivery within 30 days.

THE NATIONAL FOOD SECURITY BILL

The National Food Security Bill is being drafted to ensure food security to enable assured economic and social access to adequate food and life with dignity, for all persons in the country, in pursuance of their fundamental right to live with dignity.  The Draft Bill was sent to the National Advisory Council which was put up on their website for receiving comments and feedback from the general public. Based on the feedback the Bill was re-drafted and has been sent to the National Advisory Council which will be submitted to the Government of India.

The "Prevention of Communal and Targeted Violence (Access to Justice and Reparations) Bill, 2011"
 
The said Bill has been drafted to ensure that India's citizens enjoy the protection of State regardless of their religion, caste or language. The Bill recognizes that communal and targeted violence is discriminatory against vulnerable groups and has the potential to threaten the secular fabric of India. The Bill creates new offences, provides for stringent investigative procedures by enhancing victim participation and details provisions for relief and reparation including restitution and rehabilitation of victims and affected persons. Public accountability lies at the heart of this draft Bill. 
 
The National Advisory Council put up the draft Bill on their website, inviting comments from the Government and civil society. Based on the feedback that is currently being received, the draft Bill will be revised and sent to the National Advisory Council, which will then be submitted to the Government of India.

THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN FROM SEXUAL OFFENCES BILL, 2011

The Bill is drafted for protecting the children from offences of sexual nature like sexual assault, sexual harassment and pornography. The said Bill also provides for the establishment of  Special Courts for trial of such offences. Has been Introduced in the Rajya Sabha.

THE PREVENTION OF TORTURE BILL, 2010

Bill ensures to provide punishment for torture inflicted by public servants or any person inflicting

torture with the consent or acquiescence of any public servant.  Tabled before Rajya Sabha. Passed by the Lok Sabha. The main intention behind the Bill is to enable it to ratify the United Nations Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading  Treatment or Punishment (UNCAT)1

THE PROTECTION OF WOMEN AGAINST SEXUAL HARASSMENT AT WORKPLACE BILL, 2010

This Bill ensures to provide protection against sexual harassment of women at workplace and for the prevention and redressal of complaints of sexual harassment. Introduced in the Lok Sabha on 7th December 2010.
