Practice directions issued by Delhi High Court on service of notice under the PWDVA (2005)

On the 8th September 2008 a very unfortunate incident had occurred wherein a protection officer from Delhi was physically abused by the family members of the respondent while she had gone to the respondent’s house to serve notice. Following this the Lawyers Collective along with the Social Welfare Department, Delhi government had approached the Chief Justice ,Delhi High Court requesting him to issue practice direction for assistance being provided to the protection officer at the time of issuing and service notices.
 
  We are glad to inform you that the Registrar of the Delhi High Court has issued a practice direction to all the concerned Magistrates for assistance being provided to the Protection Officers at the time of serving notice (please find copy attached).
